This week’s episode is: A Hot Dog and a Wallflower.
Well, it is the fiftieth anniversary of the Lincoln Memorial High School. Among other activities, there is going to be a dance. Daddy Long Legs has sent Judy a beautiful new dress, but Judy doesn’t have anyone to go with. I’m not sure she understood she was supposed to ask a guy. Judy writes Daddy Long Legs about this problem. At first she determines if she must be a wallflower to be the most beautiful wallflower she can be, but Julia’s comments when Judy runs into her while shopping makes Judy rethink this strategy. Julia gets Judy to help carry what she bought and they stop at a restaurant. It isn’t an elegant place, serving hot dogs as the main dish. The guy serving them seems quite friendly, but not exactly up to Julia’s standards of refinement. So the big day arrives and Judy seems to be enjoying herself quite a lot. It even seems she enjoys being a wallflower, watching the others dance. Julia and Sallie are also wallflowers as their date hasn’t arrived yet. While Sallie looks for her date the hot dog guy asks Julia for a dance, but Julia recommends Judy. It turns out the hot dog guy is the quarterback for his high school and therefore very popular who happens to have a part time job at the hot dog place, and he is also Sallie’s older brother^^; After several dances with Judy (who is very excited since she’s never danced before), she asks him to dance with Julia. Ah, Julia, when will you recognize Judy’s good qualities?
