These two episodes are so closely linked together, I couldn’t resist doing both this week.
The first episode is: The Gallant Last Battle. Death of Sailor Warriors.
The sun spots are affecting the weather on Earth. Usagi tries to cook for her family . . . Well, it’s the thought that matters^^; Knowing where the Dark Kingdom is, the Scouts prepare to leave. Usagi teases they should remember to kiss their guys, but the other Scouts don’t want to worry about what ifs. So they transform and teleport to the area D point by the North Pole. Luna and Artemis stay behind, being injured still. Queen Beryl sens out five monsters. Our heroes are surprised to see Tuxedo Mask. Usagi has to be stopped from going after him. Ami figures out it is an illusion. The illusion is used again, this time using Mokoti and Makoto is tied up. She manages to take one of the monsters before dying. Ami insists the others go on while she hold the monsters there. Ami isn’t fooled by the illusion of Ryo and destroys the monster’s way of making illusions before being killed herself. Usagi by this time is quite frantic, which is all the monsters need to snag her, except Minako pushes Usagi out of the way and is snagged instead. Minako gets one of the monsters before being killed. Rei then manages to take out the final two monsters before being killed as well. Usagi doesn’t want to go on at first, but the spirits of the Scouts encourages her and she goes off to confront Queen Beryl. Perhaps all of this is a rather bald way of saying everything in this episode, but it was difficult to watch.
The second episode is: Usagi’s Eternal Wish. A New Rebirth.
Queen Beryl brings Usagi in the rest of the way. Endymion is possessed by Metalia so even Moon Healng can’t help him. He beats up Usagi pretty badly with no sign of recognition. Usagi finally manages to hold him off with her tiara and shows Endymion the moon locket. This must have triggered some recognition because Endymion touches it and it causes his memories to come back and the evil in him to be banished. Queen Metalia is furious and lobs a huge crystal at them. Endymion counters with a rose. The crystal is shattered, but enough hit Endymion he is fatally wounded. Metalia is hit by the rose which is damaging her due to Endymion’s love for Sailor Moon. Metalia then possesses Queen Beryl and prepares to destroy everything. Usagi says goodbye to Endymion, though she can’t kiss him since the other Scouts didn’t have a last kiss. She confronts Beryl/Metalia as Princess Serenity. Luna and Artemis know something has happened and the Dark Kingdom is about to win. Luna knows Usagi will use the Silver Crystal to its maximum to defeat Queen Beryl, which will kill her, but there is no way to stop her. Indeed, this is exactly what happens. However, the spirits of the Scouts help her. Usagi wishes to be a normal girl again. Perhaps the Scouts’ help is why everyone lives. The only thing is no one remembers what happened. But as Luna and Artemis say, all the scouts and Mamoru need is to meet again:)
So ends the first season. I will be taking a brake from Sailor Moon, but the following week I will be back with Sailor Moon R.
