This week’s episode is: Morning at Green Gables.
Anne is enchanted by the tree outside her window, which she dubs the Snow Queen. After helping with some chores and making her bed, Anne is permitted to play outside for the morning. At first, this makes Anne very happy, but she ends up not going outside. Doing so and making friends with all the plants and animals around Green Gables would only make leaving harder for her. She does name Marilla’s geranium Bonny. Then the time comes to leave. Mathew tells Marilla he told a French boy he would hire him to help with the farm for the summer, much to Marilla’s displeasure. Mattew is desolate as the two leave for Mrs. Spencer’s place. Anne astonishes Marilla by saying she is determined to enjoy the ride no matter what may come afterward.
